Hetty Naaijkens-Retel Helmrich

Hetty Naaijkens-Retel Helmrich started her career teaching Dutch language and social sciences in the Netherlands and on Curaçao (1979–1987). With her brother filmmaker Leonard Retel Helmrich she founded the film production company Scarabeefilms in 1989, which has grown into an internationally active operation, winning many top international awards all over the world, including at IDFA and Sundance.
